2025 in review

As the new year begins I look back on everything I did in 2025. Once again I went hiking a lot, more than any previous year in terms of both time and distance. I focused on climbing New Hampshire 4,000-footers to fill out the grid, but I also did six 4,000-footers in New York and a few smaller mountains. Now I have climbed each NH 4,000-footer at least twice.

I also did a lot of short one-night backpacking trips, which allowed me to see some less-popular trails and experience mountains I had already climbed in a new way.

In raw numbers, I hiked 345 miles with 103,000 total feet of elevation gain. I summitted 65 mountains, and spent 9 nights outdoors over the corse of 26 day hikes, six backpacking trips, and one kayaking trip.

As for non-hiking activities, my movie of the year was Avatar: Fire and Ash, anime of the year was Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, and game of the year was Death Stranding 2.

Here's a highlight from each month of the year.
