JOSEPH PETITTI

Welcome to my personal website

I'm Joseph Petitti, a systems administrator and cloud architect from northern New England. I studied computer science at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and graduated in 2021 with a Master of Science degree. I mostly work on highly-availabe cloud applications using AWS and Kubernetes.

Professionally I mostly work on desigining and deploying cloud architecture for continuous integration of containerized workloads and DevSecOps automation. For fun I also like game design and web development.

Check out my resume for an overview of my accomplishments, and see the projects page or my GitHub for a detailed description of the projects I've been working on.

About Me

I have a pretty wide range of interests. I enjoy programming video games, hiking the White Mountains, and watching movies. My favorite film is Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, my favorite TV show is Neon Genesis Evangelion, and my favorite game is Factorio.

Above is a picture of me at PAX East showing off a free and open source, procedurally generated, top-down, twinstick shooter game I created with two fellow students in spring 2020.

At WPI I was a member of the Beta Theta Pi social fraternity and the Upsilon Pi Epsilon computer science honor society. I worked on the Beecology Project, an NSF-funded biodiversity research project, and ASSISTments, a free platform funded by millions of dollars in federal grants that uses data-driven insights to improve high school math education. I did my Master's thesis on Android network security with the Cake Lab research group.

My other big hobby is the great outdoors. I try to go backpacking, hiking, and camping whenever I can. I have climbed all 48 New Hampshire 4000-foot peaks, and I'm working on climbing all 115 4,000-footers in the northeastern US. Below is a photo of me at the summit of Mount Fuji in September 2019.
